Challenge № 4 April | « Reduce your waste in the bathroom »
As you know, the bathroom is a place where packaging and waste are concentrated. But it’s one of the easiest rooms to be zero waste! This is our challenge for the week, with several levels depending on where you start:
- no more disposables! Tissue handkerchiefs, oriculi instead of cotton buds, washable make-up removal discs, reusable menstrual protection for those who are in control (menstrual panties, cup, washable towels…)…
- switch to solid products: chewable toothpaste, soap, solid shampoo, deodorant…
you can also decide to make your own products from basic materials bought in large quantities or in bulk (clay, bicarbonate, beeswax…), if you have the time and the desire: there are many recipes on the internet - Don’t like solid shampoos? You can buy shampoo and conditioner in bulk at Ouni! Many products come in refillable packaging, like Zao make-up
- No more plastic: compostable toothbrushes, glass cups, wooden or loofah soap dishes…
