Challenge № 3 April | « Reduce your water consumption »
Our challenge this week is to reduce water consumption. There are small, easy steps: showering instead of bathing, mulching your plants, turning off the water when you brush your teeth… and we hope you’re already doing them all. If you haven’t already, you can go and scare yourself with your consumption HERE and put them in place right away. But there are also gestures that we don’t think about and we invite you to integrate them into your daily life:
- put a full bottle in the toilet water tank to reduce consumption
- if it takes a long time for the hot water to arrive in your shower, use the water from the first few seconds to water the plants
- install aerators on all taps and showerheads to save up to 40% of water without losing comfort
- adopt an ecological diet because intensive agriculture and animal husbandry consume enormous quantities of water: 15,000 litres of water for 1 kilo of beef for example (source)
Buy second hand clothes (it’s not for nothing that we proposed this challenge to you at the beginning of the month!): for a 250 gram cotton t-shirt, 2495 litres of water are consumed! (source)
